We know some people are worried about a possible government shutdown and what it might mean for CAPE Head Start. We want you to know that our program will stay open, and we do not expect any changes to our services.

Head Start is funded by grants, so our staff are not federal government workers. This means our funding should not stop. If a shutdown goes on for a long time or slows down a funding renewal, your local program leaders will give updates to families and staff.

Most important: CAPE Head Start will keep supporting children and families in the Hayward area and as it has for the past 60 years in the Tri Valley even when things in Washington, D.C. are uncertain. Please continue to bring your children to our centers so they can continue to experience our amazing program and families/caregivers we are here to continue to support you.
